A routine eye examination will evaluate a patient's ocular health and determine the patients need for visual correction. As a result of a routine eye exam, if needed, patient will be provided with a prescription for eye glasses. Each patient will then have the opportunity to request a contact lens exam in which a contact lens prescription will be written. To insure patients maintain the clearest vision possible and that each patients ocular health remains impeccable, Borders EyeCare Specialists advise patients receive a yearly routine eye exam. 

Borders EyeCare Specialist seeks to ensure each patient receives the perfect contact lens that fits each individuals needs and life style. Each patient has unique needs, all of which must be taken into account when selecting the perfect contact lens. 

Doctors at Borders EyeCare Specialists tailor each examination to our patients ocular and healthcare needs. Our doctors have undergone extensive training in both ocular and systemic healthcare, to ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care. We correspond directly with various other healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive healthcare team for each of our patients. At Borders EyeCare Specialists we take pride in fitting many contact lens modalities to best serve our patients needs; including bifocal and multifocal contact lenses, daily, biweekly, and monthly disposable contact lenses and scleral/RGP lenses.

Borders EyeCare Specialists provides world class eye examination to all ages. Both Dr. Borders have completed extensive training in pediatrics and take pride in providing fun/kid friendly exams that are tailored to each child’s specific needs. It is recommended that a first eye exam should take place within the first year to 6 months of birth. Although the exam does not resemble many aspects of an adult eye exam the doctors at Borders EyeCare Specialists, need little or no participation from the child in order to ensure the child’s ocular health and visual corrective needs.
