Dr. Britt Borders was born and raised in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He is excited to return home to provide quality vision/healthcare to his hometown community. He is an Elizabethtown Independent High School graduate, received two Associate Degrees from ECTC and received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Campbellsville University. Dr. Borders completed his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry (UABSO). He completed his training with internships at Bennett & Bloom Eye Care, Elizabethtown EyeCare and Gaddie Eye Center. While at UABSO Dr. Borders completed rotations through various clinic including the Pediatric Eye Care Clinic, Ocular Disease and Neuro-ophthalmic Clinic, Low Vision Speciality Clinic, Specialty contact lens clinic and several others. Dr. Borders has provide care to patients at the Hellen Keller School in Talladega, Alabama  & at Alabama Institution for deaf and blind. Dr. Borders firmly  believes in treating every patient like family and providing the highest quality eye care to his patients. He understands how critical vision is and loves making a difference in his patients lives.

Dr. Sara Borders grew up in Elizabethtown, KY, graduated Elizabethtown High School class of 2009; and then Campbellsville University where she received a Bachelors of Science in 2013. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, graduating in 2018 with her husband Dr. Britt Borders. Dr. Sara practices primary care Optometry on patients of all ages and is dedicated to diagnosing and treating vision disorders, infections, injuries and ocular disease. She completed an internship at Bennet & Bloom EyeCare Centers, where she gained extensive experience in ocular disease, including retinal disease, laser procedures, and cataract postoperative care. She has a distinct passion for pediatrics and has experience with low birth weight and premature infants, as well as neuro/developmental optometry. She is a current provider for InfantSEE, in which any infant less than 1 yr may be seen at no cost to the patient. She is an active member in the Kentucky and American Optometric Association. Dr. Sara enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her husband, Dr. Britt Borders and their dog Copley.

Patrice Schimmels Borders, Registered Nurse, has been a resident of Elizabethtown and Hardin County the majority of her life.  Over the years she has worked in a variety of local community healthcare settings as a Registered Nurse and has also successfully helped to manage Borders Properties, the family’s business. Patrice is most proud of her career as a mother to her sons Britt and Braden Borders and as a wife of 31 years, to Barry Borders.  She is overjoyed to have the family addition of a daughter, Sara Borders, OD.  She enjoys people and finds delight in serving others through healthcare.  She is excited and feels blessed to be a part of her son and daughters Optometry practice and to have the opportunity to serve the community of people she loves.
